Valley of Flowers, nestled within Uttarakhand's Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, is set to open to visitors from 1st June. 

Uttarakhand’s renowned Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is set to welcome travelers starting June 1. This picturesque valley, located in the Chamoli district, is celebrated for its breathtaking meadows of endemic flora, the vibrant blossoms creating a spectacular natural tapestry. The region’s annual reopening to visitors marks a significant event for nature enthusiasts, trekkers, and botanists from around the world.

Spanning over 87 square kilometers, the Valley of Flowers is situated at an altitude of approximately 14,100 ft. above sea level. A part of the larger Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, it is known for its diverse and rich flora, including numerous species of alpine flowers, medicinal plants, and endangered flora, it features India’s most captivating treks. 

The journey to this floral paradise begins from Govindghat, followed by a trek through Ghangaria, the base camp for the Valley of Flowers. This trek, though moderately challenging, offers a blend of adventure and tranquility, with the pristine beauty of the Himalayas accompanying trekkers at every step. The peak blooming season, from mid-July to mid-August, attracts visitors hoping to witness the valley in its full glory, a canvas painted with myriad colors. 

Nature enthusiasts can now plan their trip to this enchanting floral paradise that is all set to bewitch visitors with around 300 species of flowers blooming against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas. While on the way, ardent rovers can treat their eyes to frivolous streams and spurting waterfalls. Besides this, the visitors can also get lucky in spotting the diverse fauna of this marvelous destination.
