1.      Lockhart Tea Estate 

The Lockhart Estate is one of the earliest tea plantations of Kerala, believed to be established in 1879. Apart from vast stretches of tea plantations, the estate also houses a tea factory that uses an orthodox tea manufacturing process. The Kolukkumalai Tea Estate in Kottagudi village is situated about 35 km away from Munnar. Perched at an elevation of 7900 feet, the place is a renowned hill station of Munnar and is believed to be the world’s highest-elevation tea plantation. Spread over a sprawling area of 81 hectares, the place can provide the best tea plantation experience to tourists. 

You can indulge in tea tasting and buy fresh tea produced here from the factory outlet near the old factory. The plantation provides a captivating view of the hills with lush greenery all around. You can also get a spectacular view of Kodaikanal town while taking a thoughtful stroll through the plantation pathways in the evening.

4.      Sevanmallay Tea Estate 

Located on the southwest of Kannan Devan hills in Munnar, the Sevanmallay Tea Estate is a popular tea plantation in Munnar. The plantation is one of the many estates owned by Tata Tea in Munnar. The lush green tea plantations spread over hundreds of acres of land, the mesmerising view of the Western Ghats, and a beautiful colonial-era bungalow in the heart of the estate- you can have an unforgettable tea plantation experience here.

5.      Pallivasal Tea Garden 

The Pallivasal Tea Garden is located just 8 km away from Munnar. One of the most scenic tea gardens in Munnar, Pallivasal Tea Gardens is known for its undulating slopes, lush green forests, and countless picnic spots. You can also visit the Pallivasal Waterfalls from here.
