Located about 35 kms from Munnar, this stunning tea garden is one of the most beautiful tea estates in India, and is rated among the top places for tea production. The estate is at an altitude of 7900 feet above sea level, making it the world’s highest plantation.  

Another notable thing about this tea estate is that the owners of the estate still use traditional methods for tea cultivation. Spread over 81 acres of land, the owners cultivate different varieties of tea.  

When you visit the estate, you can also take a tour around the tea production factory, where you can sip tea of different flavours and buy some freshly produced tea leaves as a gift to your tea-loving friends and family members.  

Apart from producing the best quality tea in the region, this tea estate is also known for offering tourists the most spectacular panoramic views of the hills. Pallivasal Tea Garden 

While there are lakes, and waterfalls in Munnar, visiting the tea estate has its own unique charm. One such mystic tea garden located on the outskirts of Munnar, is the Pallivasal Tea Garden. 

Besides, the estate has the beautiful Pallivasal waterfalls, and the plantation is surrounded by lush green forest, making it one of the best places to visit in Munnar for a picnic. Lockhart Estate is one of the oldest tea gardens in Munnar. It was established by John Von Rosenberg, and his son. Today, the estate is also home to the Lockhart Tea Museum, which was built in 1936. Whether you are a tea connoisseur or not, you must visit this place to know about the modern and orthodox tea plantation, and processing processes.

Kundala Lake
