You can reach Wayanad by train but not directly as is not on the railway network. So, there is no Wayanad railway station. The railway station near Wayanad is Kozhikode, 110 km away. Kozhikode is well connected by rail to major towns such as Kochi, Chennai, and Bengaluru. You can take a train to Kozhikode and then travel by road to Wayanad. A number of buses ply from Kozhikode bus station to Wayanad. Or you could hire a cab.

There is a network of good roads that lead to Wayanad from all three states – Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. You can hire a private car to Wayanad and travel in comfort.
