One of the most popular places to visit near Ahmedabad, Thol lake is an artificial lake near Thol village. The lake and its surrounding area are home to about 150 species of birds, including many migratory birds. Bird watchers regularly throng this place to see the famous Flamingoes and Sarus cranes.

Situated near Sanand village, Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary is the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat. Numerous species of migratory birds from Central Europe visit the place in the winter season.
