Gilbert Trail 

Located in Kasauli, one of the most popular hill stations, the Gilbert trail is a great place to visit Himachal Pradesh where you can spend time amidst picturesque scenery and natural beauty all around. This hiking trail is 1.5 kilometres long and runs through the forest starting with a few minutes walk from the Lover’s Lane. The hiking trail is quite easy and suitable for all. Monkey Point 

Don’t be overwhelmed or scared by the name of the point. The highest point in Kasauli, it is a must-visit place for all adventure seekers. Once you reach the top, the stunning view of the Satluj River and the Chandigarh city in the distance will fill your heart with mirth and you would be compelled to just sit back and admire the natural beauty.  

Solan Brewery 

A typical tourist guide to Himachal may not feature the Solan Brewery among the list of places to visit in Solan. If you are looking for an off-beat experience, you can visit this place with your friends and family. Established in 1855, it is one of the oldest breweries in India with a rich history. It was initially owned and run by a British, but now supervised under Mohan Meakin Limited. Also, the brewery is now converted into a distillery, and it attracts quite a number of tourists every year.

Kuthar Fort 

Built about 800 years ago by the Gorkha Kings, it is one of the oldest structures and the best places to visit in Solan. The noteworthy thing about this place is the intricate artwork and the colourful designs and patterns on the wall, a testament to the brilliant craftsmanship of that era. 

Also, the Fort complex has many fresh-water springs, which are worth exploring. Make sure that you get a few pictures of the fort interiors, the exquisite designs are extremely pleasing to the eye and worth capturing. 

Dagshai Jail Museum 

One of the important places in the history of India, this former jail was the place where Mahatma Gandhi voluntarily stayed for one day in support of the Irish people’s demand for Independence from the United Kingdom. It is the only second jail in India that has been converted into a museum after India gained freedom from the British.  

Shoolini Mata Temple 

An important place of worship for the Hindu community in Solan and Himachal Pradesh, this temple is dedicated to Shoolini Mata, a reincarnation of Goddess Durga. Many locals and tourist guides in the region recommend the visitors to visit the temple and seek the blessings of the goddess before proceeding ahead with exploring other places in the region. One of the solan famous places, the place has a spiritual aura that gives a unique experience that you may not have felt before and would give you a memorable experience. 

 

Bon Monastery 

When you are in Himachal Pradesh, you are out to visit one of the many monasteries in the state. And, while you are touring Solan, make sure to include Bon Monastery in your itinerary. Located just about 12 kilometres away from the Solan city centre, it is a popular tourist attraction. People come here to learn about the Tibetan culture and spend some time in the tranquil environment inside the sanctum. Here you may meet and talk to the monks to know about the Buddhist culture and way of living.  

Kali Ka Tibba Temple 

One of the most famous Solan tourist places, this temple, located in Chail is renowned for its picturesque view. The only way to get here is to hike your way up the hill. The temple is a haven for all photography lovers, you can click some of the best shots you have ever clicked. The clear blue sky, the crisp sun and the stunning beauty feels like nature’s photo filter.
