  • The Great Stupa - Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh 

Originally commissioned by Ashoka the Great in the third century BCE, Sanchi’s great Stupa is one of the oldest stone structures in India. It is depicted on the reverse side of the Indian currency note of Rs 200. You can also find other stupas at the complex.  

  • Charminar - Hyderabad, Telangana

Charminar means four pillars in Urdu. Constructed in 1591, the magnificent Charminar has become Hyderabad's symbol and Telangana's official emblem. Once you are done admiring the beauty of Charminar, go on a shopping spree in the busy local markets surrounding the monument. 

  • Victoria Memorial - Kolkata, West Bengal

Dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria, Empress of India, from 1876 to 1901, the Victoria Memorial is one of the most famous landmarks of Kolkata. The elegant white marble building is now a museum administered by the Ministry of Culture.   •  Ruins of Hampi - Hampi Town, Karnataka

Located in the Vijayanagara district, east-central Karnataka, the ruins of Hampi have many intricately carved ancient structures spread over 4,100 hectares. Also referred to as the Group of Monuments at Hampi, the UNESCO world heritage site is today among the most visited monuments of India and a favourite destination for travel influencers and history buffs.

  • Gol Gumbaz - Bijapur, Karnataka

Also written as Gol Gumbad, meaning "Round Dome", the 17th-century mausoleum houses the remains of the Sultans of the Adil Shahi dynasty. The structure is notable for its enormous dome.
